Here is the new organizational chart of the Alabama State Department of Education. UPDATE: October 6, 2012: This is the Organizational Chart for the ALSDE, dated May 7, 2012. Just found it on their web site and wanted to share it with you.
State Superintendent Dr. Tommy Bice mentioned the chart at the most recent work session. Very happy to see it on their web site so quickly.
While I had never seen an organizational chart of how they were set up before, Bice told his board that there were many changes.
Knowing who reports to whom is necessary to ensure your concern is addressed by the right person or department. Remember, too, that there is a protocol for solving problems and concerns. You always start with your local district. But you should never hesitate to take it to the state level if you believe your district is not responsive or is incorrect in their response.
