Dr. Bice to Share Changes in Special Education – Sept. 24 – 6:00 p.m. – Birmingham
Join us on Monday, September 24, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. for a presentation and subsequent discussion of how these changes will affect your child’s special education at school. State Superintendent Dr. Tommy Bice and Special Education Department staff will present the changes and what they mean for our families. There will be time for questions and answers following the presentation.
Many changes are taking place at the state level that will affect your child’s special education at school: Changes in content standards, testing and accountability, the format of the Individualized Education Program (IEP), even the Alabama Occupational Diploma is changing.
Families, disability advocacy groups, service providers, and special education personnel are invited to participate. The meeting will be held at the LINCPoint building at United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Birmingham. Click for written directions. It is located off of Lakeshore Parkway near Homewood.
