The State Board of Education Work Session: Tell Us How You Really Feel

C’mon, y’all. Tell us how you really feel.

If you want to know how State Board of Education (SBOE) members really feel about the recently-concluded 2013 legislative session, look no further than the video of the May 23 Work Session.

Having attended meetings of various public bodies regularly over the past 12 years, the candor and demeanor of the members of our elected SBOE are refreshing. Listening in to their discussion is always a learning experience.

Wouldn’t it be fabulous if all of our elected officials were so open with their discussions?

The SBOE and State Superintendent Dr. Tommy Bice made no bones about feeling disrespected by the Alabama legislature during this year’s legislative session. It is my hope that our state legislators and our SBOE can work better together in the future for the children of Alabama.
