YesNoProving once again it’s who you know, the ACT with Writing has been un-uninstated, or re-instated, for the 2013-2014 school year. It will be administered to all Alabama public school 11th graders on April 23, 2014. Makeup tests will be administered on May 7, 2014.

In a memo dated August 1, 2013, State Superintendent Dr. Tommy Bice states that after hearing from everyone concerned about students needing the Writing score for college admission requirements, the Writing portion of the ACT will be given after all. Apparently, the original reason for dropping it (budgetary constraints) is no longer an issue.

Time to change their minds? Ten days.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, the Hoover board of education’s decision to end bus transportation for general education students stands.  [Do you see a recurring theme in the last few posts?]

Here’s the revised testing schedule for the 2103-2014 school year.
