Alabama State Legislators on Twitter – Follow Them!
Here’s an early gift for my readers: a Twitter list of all Alabama legislators for whom I could find handles. This list is only for reading, not for tweeting to the folks on the list. It is a quick way to view what our elected officials are tweeting, particularly once the Regular Session starts on January 14, 2014.
61 of our 140 state legislators have Twitter accounts.
33 of 105 Representatives, and 28 of 35 Senators. Some use their accounts more than others.
Apologies if I have left someone off of the list. Please let me know by posting a comment here or on the Facebook page or tweet me at @ALSchoolConnect.
You can subscribe to the list if you’re on Twitter. Go to @ALSchoolConnect (follow if you’d like, but I don’t believe you have to follow me to subscribe to the list), click on “Lists”, then “Alabama State Legislators”, then look back to the left for the “Subscribe” button. See image below for details.
Here’s a bit about Twitter lists if you want to create your own.
Appreciation to the dedicated folks at the Alabama Association for Gifted Children (AAGC) who began compiling the list during the 2013 session, used it to advocate (successfully!) for increased funding for gifted education, and graciously shared it with me.
