Spring Break Season Has Begun!
Spring Break begins for two Alabama school districts this week: Alexander City and Pike County.
Another four districts take the week off the following week.
The bulk of Alabama’s 136 school districts take off either the week of March 23 (60 districts) or March 30 (63 districts), with six of the remaining seven districts taking an even later spring break being in south Alabama.
This pattern of spring-breaking is a bit different from last year, when 122 of the 135 school districts took off the same week.
Easter Sunday is April 5.
No doubt teachers and students will be resting up, as the window for conducting ACT Aspire testing begins April 6 and closes May 15.
Here’s the map. Click on the district to see the week of that district’s spring break.
(The map still won’t cooperate and show Pelham City Schools…students there will break the same week of Shelby County schools.)
If you’d like the full spreadsheet of start/end dates, along with all of the holidays taken in Alabama’s public schools, here it is.
Al.com published the list of which colleges are on spring break which week.
