How to Use College Navigator
Whether your child is heading to college this fall or is just beginning the college search, the National Center for Education Statistics’ College Navigator is a great place to start.
Not only does it help you find which colleges have the academic area in which you’re interested, but it also contains statistics that you just won’t find anywhere else.
This is the kind of information that parents and families want to know but might not be included in those recruiting brochures.
These statistics tell you, among other things, the college’s four-, six-, and eight-year graduation rate, what percent of students return after their freshman year, what the 25th and 75th percentile ACT and SAT scores are, what percent of students are admitted and then enroll, even how many sports teams they have and how many students are on each team.
The tutorial below walks you through the site, but the best way to learn what is there is just click on through.
