Of course, that’s my opportunity to pitch the Alabama School Connection, but I know that the news published here is barely a drop in the bucket compared to what is actually happening on the ground in our schools and policymakers’ conference rooms.
In examining the various ways to deliver aggregated K-12 education news from other sources directly to you, I keep coming back to Storify.
Storify is a news aggregator, allowing the creator to add news from various sources. Look to the right side of this page (scroll down a little) and you’ll see “K-12 Must-Read Education News for ______”. All of those links are content pulled together through Storify.
All news is published on the ASC is contained in the Storify, but it also contains news from the fabulous reporters across Alabama. You still have to click the link to view the story, which will reroute you to that publisher’s web site.
I’ve realized that putting it together every three weeks probably isn’t very helpful. In order to be timely at all, it really should be pulled together weekly.
So I’m considering doing it a different way….posting the news as it rolls in. It’s fairly simple to continually add stories to an open Storify. It could be closed out every few days, or every week, and the newest stories will be added to the top.
Y’all are the readers. Y’all are the busy folks. So y’all tell me what you’d prefer, please.
